Converting from vSphere to Hyper-V

In my homelab I currently have one server running VMWare ESXi 5.0 and one with Hyper-V on Windows Server "8" Beta. I wanted to move the virtual machines from VMWare to Hyper-V and since I have neither vCenter nor SCVMM at the moment I needed to find out a way to convert the machines.
I found a free tool from StarWind Software called V2V Converter (http://www.starwinds...e.com/converter).
The first machine up for conversion is running Windows 7.
To perform the conversion I first un-installed VMWare tools from the machine and then shut the machine down. Then I copied the vmdk-files to a location that I could reach from my conversion machine. Running the tool is really simple. Just point to the file you would like to convert and then select what format you would like to output to. It supports conversion to/from VMWare, Hyper-V and IMG.
When the conversion was done I created a new virtual machine in Hyper-V and attached the newly created vhd-file and started the machine. It started without problems and as expected found a bunch of new drivers and needed a restart. Since I run Hyper-V 3.0 I also needed to install the Integration Services. Another restart and the machine is converted!
